Wow, excellent! Is the fire the only light source? The model seems to get more light from the fire than I'd expect. Is it a standard blade covered in oil? Love it! Please tell me more about it!

Yes, fire is the only source. The shot was taken during a show. The blade is soaked in petrol.

Awesome image??

Behind The Lens

Location
The photo was taken during a fireshow in Paris, just near the Eiffel Tower. The place is called "Le Palais de Tokyo" and it's a famous spot for burners.
Time
Obviously by night, the time when fire is involved.
Lighting
It's quite simple, the only light came from the fire sword itself. It was enough.
Equipment
As usual my trusty Nikon D750 with a 24 70mm f/2.8 zoom. Nothing else.
Inspiration
It was a show and I was there to take photo. It was the first time I saw this italian performer named Il Drago Bianco. So far, he is one of the best I've seen.
Editing
The photo was developed with ACR. With the flames, I am always extra careful not to overexpose, their shapes are always so impredictable and beautiful. The flames from this sword where especially unusual and fascinating.
In my camera bag
Same trusty Nikon D750 with a 24 70mm f/2.8 zoom.
Feedback
In a fire show, I take a lot of photo because very very few of them turn to be interesting.
