Fort "Emperor Alexander I" ("Plague") — one of the long-term fortifications included in the defense system Kronstadt. Located on a small artificial island South of the island of Kotlin. From 1899 to 1917 it was used as a laboratory for the study of plague. It looks like the famous Bayard Fort off the West coast of France, but the construction of which was completed later "Alexander I".

It looks like the walls are black from artillery firing. It does look drab and impressive with its thick walls. thanks for sharing information also. Do you speak English or use translator?
