I took this photo at a very small car show in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. There were about 15 cars parked in a large parking lot. This one particularly got my attention because my father at one time had 5 of these classics. He loved the 1953 Lincoln. Apparently it won a road race in Mexico around that time.Time
As I recall I was walking around the car show around 11 am.Lighting
It was a beautiful, cloudy day. I wanted to be sure and get the wonderful cloudy skies of the Idaho prairie in the shot.Equipment
This was shot on a Sony Nex-6, handheld.Inspiration
The car show was a small group of cars from the 1950's. My father had been a big Lincoln fan and around 1960 he bought numerous 1953 Lincolns and kept them in a shed. Ironically, he was killed driving one in 1968 when he fell asleep and ran into a tree.Editing
I do very little post-processing other than the sliders available on Photos. My camera was set on Aperture with an auto HDR setting. In my camera bag
Normally my bad has two cameras: a Sony a6000 and a Sony NEX-6. I carry 4 lens, 2 on the cameras and 2 in reserve. I have cleaning materials, extra batteries. In my car I have a bean bag for stability. I have difficulty using a tripod successfully, so that is rare. I often stabilize my camera with some fixed object like a fence, a rock, a wall, etc. Occasionally I wear a hip pack with the second camera and a couple batteries and just walk around with that.Feedback
There was nothing special or unusual about this photo opportunity. I enjoy going to "events" and car shows is one of my favorites. I am continually checking for local activities that might be interesting to me: car shows, street fairs, rodeos, horse shows, dog shows, pow wows, triathlons. After this miserable 2020 with everything canceled, I am eagerly looking forward to 2021 being the "old" normal.
