These fantastic little birds are found throughout the world. I've seen them while in the jungle and on the edge of the desert.
Here in the UK House Sparrows are of high conservation concern, there numbers dropping significantly in recent years with no clear indicators of why.
This fellow was examining the blossom of a tree near a cafe. The birds were showing the adaptability that has allowed them to colonise almost any area where there is human habitation. They would help clear tables of crumbs and took dropped food, while at the same time spent time searching for food in nearby trees and bushes.
