The photo was taken during a portrait shooting in my studio in Turin, Italy. Portraiture always gives me the possibility to get in touch with new people, listen to their stories, and share our experiences.Time
It was late in the afternoon. That day I spent all morning on the computer and I was a little bit tired but those sessions of portraiture always give me the ability to recharge my batteries.Lighting
I want this image to get a soft transition between lights and shadows giving a nostalgic feeling like old black and white photography. I put a background light also to create a very light vignette.Equipment
Sony Alpha 7R m3 with Sony 24-70mm f2.8 GM, two flashes: Profoto B1, one with a rectangular softboxInspiration
She was looking for a portrait shooting to get a book for an audition at a fashion agency. For this shot, I take inspiration from the natural-looking posing from Lindberg and his stunning way to do fashion photography.Editing
For this kind of shot, I tend to do some skin correction in photoshop but out of them, I prefer to do all with the lightning during the shooting. As always it required a makeup artist to get the job done.In my camera bag
When I work in the studio I always have at least 3 studio light with a bunch of modifiers. Depending on what kind of shooting I have to do I use zooms and prime lenses bothFeedback
In portrait photography, the most important thing is to get in touch with the people, get them ease, and have some fun time together.
