Not a beetle but a Preying Mantis. I don't recognize the species, but the folded front legs is a give away. I have never seen one with feathery antennae. Nice shot

It's a Male Cone Head Mantis. The male has the feathery antennae.

Behind The Lens

Location
I take this photo in the place Folga in the Algarve, Portugal
Time
This was about 02.00 hour pm and it was dry and not so much wind.
Lighting
No, inhad no time for it, because he or she was flying and landed on a chair outside. I saw her, walk inside my house, take my camera, capture some photos and she was flying away, over the house and i never see her anymore. I never see this sort of grashopper anymore. There was also no time to change a lens or something. It was a litle bit a lucky shot.
Equipment
I used my Nikon D7200 with my 18 140 Nikon zoom lens, wich one i normaly use as standard lens.
Inspiration
What me inspired to take this photomwas that i never see before a insekt like this. It was a strange sort of grashopper, but then with a sort of hair on her hat and that was the reasen that i called her Beatle.
Editing
I am always post proces my photos. At the moment i use Photoshop and i take my photos in nef for Nikon or raw for other cameras. Because the photo Beatle was already some older and on that moment i used Snapseed. Snapseed is a very good app and its for free. You can download it in the playstore.
In my camera bag
It depends what i am going to photograph that day. When i go to make landscapes, i take with me a very heavy tripod from Benro, a wide angle lens from nikon 10 20 mm and a big stopper. For macro, i take with me my tripod, a ring flash from nissin, a macrom80 mm lens and a macro 70 210 lens, this i combination with my Nikon D7200. When i am going to photograph birds, i take my zoom telelens with me from Sigma.
Feedback
well in this case it was very importment to have your camera ready in the neighberhood. Take you photos in raw, because they are more beautiful. Sometimes they ask me what is the best camera, well its the camera that you have with you. Try to take more photos from one thing and choose the best one.
