Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in the beautiful city of Melbourne in Australia!

Time

I took the photo at around 11pm

Lighting

The lighting in the photo is all street lighting, street lighting can look amazing when used correctly!

Equipment

I used a 5D Mark IV and a Sigma 85mm Art 1.4

Inspiration

My partner and I were walking around Melbourne on the night I took the photo, I was talking to her when I noticed the light's in the distance bouncing off the glass in her glasses at all angles! I love looking at light bouncing in transparent objects, especially when there is colour involved. There wasn't much else to it other than that, I'm a very spontaneous photographer.

Editing

There was a little bit of tweaking in Adobe Lightroom, just light changes like boosting the shadows and saturation a little

In my camera bag

I normally keep my 5D Mark IV, Canon 70-200mm, Sigma 85mm, and Sigma14-24mm lenses in my bag, along with a drone and a squeeze blower to keep dust, sand and stuff of my gear.

Feedback

My best advice is to experiment! Move your subject around, move yourself around. See how light bounces around at different angles, sometimes you'll need to crank up the ISO a lot to get a photo like this.
