Simple serenity, I think the duck makes the picture, very peaceful and calming.

Location
This photo was taken in Joensuu, Finland.Time
It was morning here in Joensuu, Finland. I looked out my window and noticed the mist concealing the distant parts of the city. I knew I had to make the most of it. I grabbed my camera and headed out to my favourite local spot “Kuhasalo”, where the mist was turning the visible into the unknown.Lighting
The lighting was soft from the overcast weather.Equipment
I used my Nikon D7100, Sigma 10-20mm and a tripod.Inspiration
The mist was what mostly inspired me. It completely changed the scene, giving it a mysterious look and feeling. I've photographed this island many times before, but this time it was different. The duck was an extra bonus. I waited for it to enter the frame before finally taking the photo.Editing
I used Photoshop and Lightroom to edit this photo. I didn't do too much other that convert it to black and white, add sharpening and add contrast. I also added fairly heavy vignetting to pull the viewer even more into the image. In my camera bag
I usually have my Nikon D7100, Sigma 10-20mm, Nikon 35mm, tripod and Hoya ND500. I also carry other things like extra batteries etc.Feedback
Let the weather help you. In misty/foggy weather like this, it can really simplify things. Create a point of interest and then have objects leading towards it. General advice would to be to just keep on taking photos, and then to critique your own work.
