Location
This photo is taken from my little but very beautiful village named Tamni in Bangladesh.Time
It was 7pm, just before the dusk. Cause that time of day, fogs start to fall and droplets began to form. I went through the mastered field at the evening and find a lots of jewels here and there but waited a bit more to let them form some good figures.Lighting
I wanted a natural look in the image, so I use the available last light of the day and no flash.Equipment
I use Nikon D80 & legendary Nikkor Micro 55mm f/2.8 Ai-S lens to take this photo.Inspiration
Actually, I'm a big fan of macro and these tiny dew drops. And after having that awesome 55mm macro lens, my first plan was to pay a visit to my village to have some droplet shots. And the day after I arrived, I walk around through the mastered field to find some perfect droplet to shoot. It was too difficult and a big challenge to shoot this tiny droplets in such low light and windy weather. But after clicking a lot of frames, at last I find this one to keep.Editing
I always try to present the photographs not the way I see them but the way I feel them. And here, I use a layer masking with Gaussian blur to make the background a bit smooth as the background was too close to the subject. I also correct the White Balance as the RAW image was a bit warm.In my camera bag
I'm a very passionate landscape photographer, so my first priority is my Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 ultra wide lens and then my choice for macro is the sharpest in it's class, Nikon Micro 105mm f/2.8 AF-S and to play with some wildlife shots in wide frame, my Zoom Nikkor 80-200mm f/2.8 is a masterclass glass. And I never forget to pick my two Nikon D300 for the classic image quality. For landscape shots my bag is always fill with all possible ND & GND filters. And in that case, my choice is inexpensive but very nice quality ZOMEI filter packs. I use Victory ball head tripod and its my most favorite friend for it's very sturdy support. Last but not the least, I love to carry two speed lights and a bunch of light defusers for macro shots.Feedback
To capture this kind of droplet shots, one must need to have a big bag full of passion. Cause its a very time consuming fact to take the shot in sharp focus. You must need to be there in right time, either down or in the dusk and don't forget to take you tripod with you. It will be great if you use tele macro lens like 90mm or 105mm as that will let you work from a good distance and let your gears keep dry from the collisions with droplets. Wear full sleeve dresses as you need to lay down the grounds to have a good point of view. Don't worry, you will miss to frame it perfectly thousand times but when you do this right, that will be a jewel to keep.
