Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in a photo studio with a black background

Time

I normally shoot there between 10am-2pm.

Lighting

Strobe lights from the left side and above Exposure 1/160, ISO200, f/11

Equipment

I used a full frame camera with a 24-70mm lens.

Inspiration

I wanted to experiment with selective color. I've only done a few of these but liked them. In this case I bought some cheap costume gloves and took a number of images to see what would work best.

Editing

Normal post processing for human skin, then converted the image to black and shite. With a mask I recovered the red glove.

In my camera bag

I normally carry just what I need for a shoot. I use camera straps that can hold an extra battery and SD cards.

Feedback

Work with the model. Let them know what you are trying to achieve. Show them what is captured in the back of the camera. Try multiple times to improve the image. And if at anytime you get something magical, work that even more.
