Location
This is the reflection in what used to be a water reservoir for the fire brigade. This was needed for the old wooden houses on the mountainside up above the city of Bergen on the west coast of Norway- hense the houses behind going off down the hill.Time
This was taken on a wind-still evening.Lighting
I noticed the lack of wind and seeing that the rain was about to clear I knew that his was a good opportunity for a nice reflection of the houses across the reservoir.Equipment

I have taken shots at this location before and was looking for the right time to get a better shot. With the lack of wind I knew the houses would be reflected but what would make the shot would be the sun adding tinges to the clearing cloud. Being 100m up the mountainside from the city it gives a clear view of the cloud formations out towards the north sea.Editing
I took the photo with the light setting to capture the clouds without over-exposing. I knew this would make the houses darker but it would be easy to bring them out in post-processing.In my camera bag

My favorite time to capture pictures of cities/ landscapes is when rain is clearing or early morning after rain during the night. Great cloud formations or mist can make the shot. I check the weather forecast 3 times a day.
