Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in Richmond, VA. It is one of the entrances into the former City Hall.

Time

The photo was taken around 12:00 noon while I was taking a walk during my lunch break.

Lighting

I surprised at how clear and crisp the photo came out considering that it was a cloudy day and the rain had just finished.

Equipment

Believe it or not this photo was actually taken on my iPhone 8.

Inspiration

I’ve taken many photos of this building. I love it’s architecture and I just wanted to capture another part of the structure from a different angle.

Editing

If I recall I did very little post-processing. I’m sure I had to crop the photo and I used the auto settings on my iPhone.

In my camera bag

The equipment that I normally use when photographing is my Canon EOS Rebel T5. I usually will use my Canon 55mm lens, Canon Zoom Lens EF 75-300mm and occasionally the kit lens that came with the camera package.

Feedback

Because of the weather at the time that I took the photo I had the advantage of diffused light caused by the clouds. I would think that the “golden hour” would be a good time to capture a photo similar to this one.
