Just got back from there, whole coast was fogged in the past week, but this spot was beautiful.

Beautiful image—-adding the car provides excellent perspective! Great color, too!

There is a light at the end of the tunnel! We can make it. Thanks for a great picture.

Great photo! If you live near there, try again when it is foggy. It has an entirely different feel with fog, and fog is fairly common.

Location
I stopped by this Cyprus Grove north of San Francisco and it was perfect for taking an image like this! I love shooting in soft low light to use light for creating a totally different mood to this location!Time
This is probably my favorite image of this location. Evening provided the low light so I could use car lights as a center focus to highlight the entire image and draw the eye into the shot but at the same time, fill the frame with a distinct mood!Lighting
There was enough ambient light coming through from outside so I could still pick up details on trees while capturing the car lights. This was key to using only one image to create this look.Equipment
I used my Canon 6D with a 24-70mm 2.8 L lens. I also used a tripod to steady the shot in the lower light scenario.Inspiration
I love pictures that tell a story and draws the viewer in! This image is my depiction of things we go through in life when it feels like a never ending tunnel and we question if we will ever get through the darkness, but somehow we do! With the whole Covid-19 epidemic, this is my version of how it feels!Editing
I used only one image to create this so had to expose for highlights and then in post processing brought up the highlights to see details in the trees and on the road. I also painted a little extra light into image where I wanted to where I wanted the eye drawn to.In my camera bag

If you go to this location, it will take patience because this place has become so popular and is overrun with visitors. Be prepared to wait until crowds dwindle down. But if you wait until dark your image will turn out too grainy. My advice is to take advantage of whatever conditions you run into. If it is foggy, use the fog to create a totally mysterious version of this. Create your own interpretation with what you see! Those are always the best!
