Behind The Lens

Location

This picture was taken of a grandmother that had come to America to visit her 5 grandchildren. You can just see the joy in her eyes. I have been shooting portraits for ten years, and just love the works and style of Iwona Podlasinska, Paula Duczman, and Lera Lyman. Portraiture is my first love.

Time

This portrait was taken around 11:30 am with natrual light coming through a window at subjects right.

Lighting

I mostly shoot with natrual light, I just think it's has such a wonderful glow.

Equipment

I shot this a Canon 1D mark iii with a 85 mm ISO 800

Inspiration

The life lines on her face. What some stories she could thell.

Editing

I edited ICR using lots of clarity, then moved over into using curves, dodge and burning.

In my camera bag

All my equipment is Canon. Always have my 85 mm 1.2, Canon 1D, Canon 5D as backup with a Canon 70-200 mm

Feedback

I only advice I could give is to shoot what you love, because it shows in your work.
