Location
Aruba, visiting family. It was my first time ever visiting.Time

Just my Sony camera and 70-200 mm lensInspiration
I was capturing all sorts of shots on the beach that day. I was mainly hoping for a cloudy sunset off the water, but that never happened. Instead I happened to look behind me and noticed the light house. It is 1 of 2 on the island. This one is the only real lighthouse on the island. I thought the cactus looked neat so I tried keeping things balanced within frame before I shot.Editing
I did. I needed to brighten, vividly colorize, did some dodge and burn near the bottom. I also used a orange filter to bring more of the sunset feel to the ground, cactus and lighthouse. Then used a blue graduated filter from the top to half way down to define more of the blue skyline. In my camera bag

Don't forget to look around. I almost missed this shot. I was too busy looking at one thing that I never noticed what was behind me until I got bored and I happened to look up. If you want to take a similar picture, go near a lighthouse near sunset on a clear day and use your rule of thirds.
