Location
The photo was taken on the beautiful coast of Syracuse in Sicily.Time
For this photo, which is among my favorites, I waited for the sun to be lightly covered by a bank of very thin clouds, so I got a dim but not flat lighting. It was about 10 o'clock in the morning.Lighting
Soft light, favored by very thin clouds that allowed a soft light, pleasant but not flat. Moved sea, long exposure times and a ND filter did the rest.Equipment
Canon EOS 5D MKIII, with EF 24-105 L IS USM lens, ND 1000 filter, tripodInspiration
At the edge of the north coast of Syracuse runs a cycle path on what was once a railway. Walking along the edge of the cliff, I was looking for inspiration for some shots, the time was not the most suitable, I noticed two small caves where the sea burst with a certain violence, thanks to the light at that ideal time, I placed the tripod and I got this shot which is one of my favorites.Editing
Photographer always in RAW. I developed the photo in Lightroom after which I corrected the tones and saturation in Photoshop. In the processing of my photos I use the Viveza 2 plugin of Google Nik Collection, now free.In my camera bag
My equipment consists of two camera bodies Canon EOS 5D MKIII and MKIV One EF 24-105 L IS USM lens, EF 17-40 L USM, EF 100mm f / 2.8L Macro IS USM, EF 50mm f / 1.4 USM, EF 400mm f / 5.6 L USM, extension tubes, Kenko focal length multiplier PRO 300 AF DGX 2.0X, flash Metz Mecablitz 52 AF-1 Digital, Manfrotto tripods.Feedback
Study the place well, try to find the optimal lighting conditions, have a lot of patience, because sometimes the success of a shot is a matter of minutes. Walk a lot and look around. If you find an interesting place move, if possible, in order to have different points of view, sometimes a few meters distance makes the difference, but above all learn to see in your mind the final result. To get a shot that hits you must seize the moment. Sorry for my bad english. :-)
