Behind The Lens

Location
This photo is from the Maasai Mara in Kenya.
Time
This was sometime before noon in eastern Africa in August.
Lighting
I took this through the side of our 4WD in natural light.
Equipment
This photo is taken with Nikon D500 and Nikon 200-400mm f4.
Inspiration
The lion is actually yawning here, so for me it was just a matter of readjusting composition slightly and time the shot to get him straight ahead.
Editing
I process all my photos in Lightroom, mainly with contrast, blacks and sharpening.
In my camera bag
Nikon D500 and D750, Nikon 200-400mm f4, Nikon 70-200mm f4, Tamron 15-30mm f2.8, Fujifilm X100F
Feedback
Get out there and shoot, practice composition and learn to anticipate behaviours.
