This image was clicked in Serengeti National Park, TanzaniaTime
This image was clicked in the morning hours around 9am - 10am.Lighting
As the weather was over cast and there was lot of cloud cover the light was ambient.Equipment
Canon 5D Mark III, Canon 70-200 F/2.8 ISII USM, handheld shot.Inspiration
I saw the elephants walking in a file towards the road for game drive vehicles. Road was a bit low from the ground, I wanted to get a closer shot of the elephants and I had asked the guide to stop the vehicle few feet away from the elephants. Elephants changed their formation to hide the little calves in between the formation and stopped for few seconds. We quickly moved the vehicle, I clicked few low angle shots and moved on to allow the Elephants to cross.Editing
I did basic processing like cropping a bit, adjusted highlights, shadows and contrast, sharpened the image a bit.In my camera bag
As I am a wildlife and landscape photographer I carry following gear Canon 1DX, Canon 5D MIII, Nikon D850 bodies, Canon 500mm f/4.0 ISII USM, Canon 70-200 F/2.8 ISII USM, Tamron 15-30 F/2.8 and Nikon 24-120mm lens, a Gitzo carbon fibre tripod , a Gimball head and a Ball Head. Also always carry a bean bag, Remote release, Canon 600 Ex Flash. A Rain cover and few CF and XQD cards, Card readers, Hard drives and a laptop.Feedback
While in the field always observe and look for those opportunities to make the creative and store telling images.
