A memorial in the form of a canopy. A fragment of the channel lattice, granite slabs and part of the cobblestone pavement (in the center under the flowers), covered with the blood of Emperor Alexander II, who was fatally wounded at this place on March 1, 1881. The grating of the channel, granite slabs and part of the cobblestone pavement are located exactly on the places where they were at the time of the assassination attempt on Emperor Alexander II.
