Location
This photo was taken in my home studio in Berlin.Time
I took this shot on a Saturday afternoon. I tried a few settings and was quite happy with the result.Lighting
I used a single speedlight with a softbox from the side against a white background.Equipment
This was shot with a Nikon D7000 and the Nikon 35mm 1.8. The flash was probably the Metz Mecablitz 52.Inspiration
The group Art of Self Portrature ( #artofselfportraiture ) has ongoing challenges I sometimes participate in. This topic was "Paper or Plastic" and this is the paper version.Editing
Only a little, added a little contrast, reduced the colors a bit and added some split toning in Lightroom. In my camera bag
For every day I use a Olympus OMD-10 with usually the 17mm lens. If I go on vacation or a photo tour, I probably pack the Nikon D7000 with two or three lenses. Due to the weight, the Nikon nowadays usually sits on it's tripod at home and is used for self portraits or "studio shots" there.Feedback
Try, try, try. Try self portraits at home, by yourself first. Get yourself a theme. Look around in self portraiture groups. Take lots of shots, delete many of them, edit some and post just a few ;)
