Location
This photo was taken in a drainage tunnel under a bridge in WV. This is a hang out place for people that want to get away from life or want some privacy and quiet or to be alone with their significant other for quality time.Time
This photo was taken in the early evening as the sun was starting to go down.Lighting
This was shot with all natural lighting. The girl is near one end of the tunnel and I shot the image from the other end. The light was perfect to get the effect I was going for.Equipment
This was shot using a Canon 5DsR with a Canon 70-200mm F2.8 IS USM II lens without a tripod or flash.Inspiration
I saw her sitting there in the tunnel vaping the time away. I felt such a strong emotion in the scene that I took the shot. It just seemed to balance out perfectly giving me the resulting image.Editing
I took the RAW image and post processed it into a black and white image. I boosted the contrast a bit and dodged and burned a couple of areas to balance the image out better. In my camera bag
I normally carry several lenses, cleaning supplies, tripod, flash, extra camera body, SD cards and credentials.Feedback
Try different perspectives. I got down on my back in the tunnel to get this shot to frame it the way I wanted. Don't be afraid to try different ideas and angles to get the shot. Remember, we live in a 3D world. Up, down, left, right, and forward and back. Be bold and go for it!
