Wow. Very unusual. I would be a little nervous driving on that road

Dear Ruth: The road was only part way up. Transportartion was provided by big trucks with wooden bench es. Each truck took about 50 people. The road up was very steep. Then the trucks stoppedm let everyone out and it was a 1 hour up a steep path. I could only walk aout 15 minutes then stopped to rest. This spot is the most photographed in Myanmar. Thabks for commenting, Best wishes, Larry

Dear Jean: This is quite a natural phenomenon, a huge rock balancing on the edge of a mountain and then some Buddhists come along, paint it gold and making an addition to honor and remember Buddha, it is quite a pilgrimage sight in Myanmar. There were lots of old people, especialially ladies, making the one hour climb to reach this sight. They were tough!

Dear Daisy: For good reason, this is the most photographed landmark in Myanmar. To reach it, people must walk up a steep path for an hour. I loved the experience! Hope you had a Happy Easter!

Dear Brian: This is the most photographed image in Myanmar. It is really a beautiful place on top of a mountain, A truck-bus brings people part way up, then people must climb for an hour to reach the pagoda. Best wishes, Larry

Hello Joop: Thanks for writing. This is an amazing spot on top of a mountain. Difficult to get there, but after being passed by little old ladies I finally made it to the top. It seems a miracle that that huge boulder can balance like that for hundreds, if not, thousands of years. Last year I visited Netherlands, mainly Amsterdam, quite a thrill and everything positive. I had wanted to make that trip for half my life and fianlly made it. Wishing you all good things! Larry

Hello Vasanti: Thanks for noting the quality of the Golden Rock Pagoda. It was quite an experience to go there and see it in person. It is on top of a steep mountain, most of the way up is by steep road in huge dump trucks that have benches for about 50 people. They are called buses, upon arrival at the bus station, people get off and walk for over an hour up a steep path. I had to stop every 10-15 minutes to rest it was so steep, but there were little old ladies who power walked up. It is a pilgrimage for all Burmese Buddhists and is the most photographed landmark in Myanmar. Your word, "Extraordinary" is spot on! Love your profile, lots of beautiful flowers, everything colorful and well composed. Keep up the great effort, your talent is really showing! :) :) Larry
