Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken in the Lake District, UK. I am self taught so the this photo was just an experiment to try film photography.

Time

This is probably one of my favourite images I have taken and developed. I remember I was exploring places and castles in the Lake District and came across this at in late afternoon around 5pm

Lighting

I wanted to capture the photo at the perfect time to of day to give the building the perfect exposure and the perfect lighting to get all the right shades and shadows that were captured in the photo.

Equipment

This photo was taken using a film camera which then led to me developing once I used all the film

Inspiration

I wanted to try something new as I normally only took nature photos and wanted to try landscape and architecture and thought this would be the perfect opportunity to do so.

Editing

I had to develop the photo on the film twice one, to test what the perfect exposure time to y the photo would be and then the other to do the final result

In my camera bag

Being an amateur photographer I only pack my film camera, three packs of film, and my canon camera 1200d. With a 18-55mm lens and then a macro lens. With some filters to get the best colour in certain environments.

Feedback

Have a lot of patience and don’t waste the film on places or things you may not like. Make sure you don’t open the back of the camera until all of the film has been used up as it will mess the film and photos up.
