Do you do any tutorials by the way? Like skin retouching, if so I would love to see how you do it. Honestly such incredible work!

Behind The Lens

This photo was taken in my home studio in Bordeaux, France. This is a really small studio where I feel good.
There is no clock in my studio but I usually work in the afternoon with a coffee ;-)
Sure but I cannot tell everything, we all need some magic. Seriously, I used a 5 lights setup with colored gels.
I always use my Nikon D810 and in this case my lens is the wonderful Nikon 105mm f/1.4. My flashes are all from Godox (mainly AD600) which builds unexpensive high end monoblocs compared to the main brands we all know.
Certainly my mentor Jake Hicks who gave me this wish to experiment with gels.
Of course I did post on this picture but not too much: channels curves of course in Capture One to make it pop but the RAW file was not so much different. Plus, it looks obvious, the skin has been retouched. Now I would certainly say "too much" retouched, anyway I like this image how it is. It is not meant to be realistic, I wanted a real color explosion!
In my camera bag
Of course the body: Nikon D810. After, well I can take all my lenses though they are not always useful. First the Nikon 105mm f/1.4, my real masterpiece and I usually add the Tamron 24-70mm f/2.8 G2 and Tamron 15-30mm f/2.8. Sometimes I also use the Nikon 105mm f/2.8 for macro or product photography.
It's difficult to give advice but what is clear to me is that you need to be curious enough to test a lot and to make everything to help your model to understand that it will not be perfect on the first click. Also working with 5 flashes needs some practice to get good results specially when come the moment to choose the good modifiers. So be patient, try and try again!
