For 4 years I've had this capture in mind but the conditions were never right, until today. On this day we had blue bird skies and 4 feet of fresh snow. Bingo ! Climbing down the steep grade in waist deep snow was a challenge, but, well worth the results. Taken in California looking east, the snow covered mountains in the background are in Nevada across the Carson River Valley, some 60 miles due east.
