The lighting really suited me style. Dark and moody clouds rolled in from a late summer storm , illuminating the waves from behind me.Equipment
I used my canon 5d3 with a sigma 70-200 . It was taken at 150mm at 1/4000 iso 400.Inspiration
I’ve always loved the ocean and the raw power it shows us. I knew the storm forecast and wanted to put myself in the right spot for this shot.Editing
Not a great deal of post processing in this one as the conditions created a great natural contrast , I dodged and burned the darks and highlights a little more to bring out my style more . I then used a square cropIn my camera bag
I usually carry two cameras and a few different focal length lenses. 17-40 , 70-200, 24mm prime , 100mm macro. I use the lee filter system and b@w 6 and 10 stop neutral density filters.Feedback
The only advice I’d give for shots like this is to don’t be happy with your first shot , every wave is different . Try and capture Mother Nature showing off her beauty. She won’t let you have it easy every time .
