Location
This photo was taken in the Fiordland National Park on New Zealand's South Island, exactly at the Gertrude Saddle not far away from the famous Milford Sound.Time
It was in the afternoon in summer, so we had plenty of daylight for this hike.Lighting
The light was all natural, I had luck that the sun was already a little bit behind us so I had no problem with hard, direct sun light.Equipment
I used my Fujifilm X-T2 handheld, together with the Fujinon 23mm f/1.4 lens.Inspiration
The wonderful view at this awesome place high in the mountains.Editing
Just the normal RAW-processing to adjust the colors, contrast and the white balance. In my camera bag
My Fuji X-T2, a Samyang 12mm and the Fujinon 23mm, 35mm & 90mm lenses. I have also some ND- & GND-filters and a Polarizing filter.Feedback
When you are in alpine regions like the Southern Alps even if it's summertime and the weather seems to be great when you start your hike to the location you have to prepare yourself for every weather. No photo is worth it to bring yourself in uncomfortable situations. This rule fits for the Gertrude Saddle and all other alpine locations around the world.
