Behind The Lens

Location

Chefchaouen, Morocco

Time

We set off on the hike after lunch time (2pm), It took us about an hour to get to the top. So around 3pm i’d say.

Lighting

To be honest, it was more about going on an adventure, and seeing Chefchaouen from above. Don’t get me wrong, the blue medina is absolutely stunning. But getting that high up and looking down, was an unreal experience. I have to thank Gayoso and Guille, who keep me feeling young and adventurous.

Equipment

I used a GoPro Hero3+ and a selfie stick (hahah I know right)

Inspiration

To be honest I wasn’t really thinking about taking this photo, it was more about getting up there and seeing what it looked like. Luckily, i had my GoPro with me.

Editing

Errrm I think I just lowered the highlights, brought out some of the colours and added a vignette. Oh and I may have used a lens correction tool, to make it look less fisheye’d (is that a word, anyway you get me)

In my camera bag

At the moment I’m not using the GoPro as much, as I need an upgrade. Currently using an old Canon 600D with a new canon 50mm prime lens. I also carry around a 18-55mm and a 55-250mm but both came with the camera, so they are a bit beaten up. Looking to invest in new gear pronto.

Feedback

I didn’t have a remote with me, so I feel like burst mode worked best. Just never say no to an adventure and take as many photos as you can. I took about 300 pictures while I was up there and liked 5 of them.
