Behind The Lens
Location
During my stay in Norway one of my friends asked me if i can take some pictures of his new baby born, so i accepted the offer.Time
I remember that was taken during the afternoon, we had enough good time while the baby was calm and relaxed, so it was easy to take that shot.Lighting
Regarding the light i only used a reflector so i can light up the shoot a little bit, because the indoor light in the house was a bit dull, but no flash were used.Equipment
I was using a canon 5D mark 3, and the lens used was the canon 24-105 L, no external flash but only used a reflector.Inspiration
Actually the inspiration came from the father, he is a hard working guy who had a big accident in his old job that cost him to lose 3 of his fingers, so i was touched by the story and how he was motivated to quit his old job and study again to become a nurse, so the new job will keep him safer when it will come to have this baby. So i wanted to show the love of the father while his baby is just laying and sleeping safely in his arms.Editing
For sure i did a post processing in lightroom, the original picture was shoot in colour. while choosing to make the picture in black, was a right choice from my point of view, because it gave the shoot a little bit of emotion that was able to tell the story using no words, but just creativity. In my camera bag
On my daily camera bag, i always keep Canon 70-200 L, Canon 16-35 L, Flash canon 600 EX, sensors for the flash, Mavic pro drone, and a tripod.Feedback
The only advice i can give, is to always listen to the stories that the people would love to tell, always interact with their past, know more about anything that can get them closer to their client to be able to take the shoot to a more artistic level and not just give the commercial part of the job. Clients will be more relaxed in the shoot, and i think the photographer will be more inspired and can give the creativity and art needed from the outcome needed.
