Behind The Lens

Location
My Name is An La Self taught portrait fashion,fineart photographer base in Melbourne Australia, this shot was taken from Home studio on eastern Suburb. with great team, model: Lillian Sallie, Hair make up artist: Nicky Edward, Dress Designer :Bonita Couture.
Time
After picking the dresses from Bonita the day before we start hair and make up at studio at 9:30 am and finished at 11am , dressing and tweaking the light we started around noon.
Lighting
The Look we want is about the dress with complement by the model, there two lights set up one large Octo 1.2m in front of the model low power 3m away ,and another small Octo 80cm on her right raise over her head around 45 degree down.
Equipment
The equipments i used for this shot was Nikon d810 with Nikon 70-200mm f2.8 vr2 shoot at shoot at iso100 F9 at 112mm at 1/160sec Strobes ; Jinbei: HD600 as a main and Jinbei DM3 400 as the second source. the back is 50% grey paper.
Inspiration
I m inspired by the model , she have red hair also amazing Bonita Couture with very delicate and timeless design, The old master painting approach to the shoot was Suitable for the project.
Editing
The processed with adobe LR then CS Colour Adjustment in Lr then Cs with skin retouch , and colours grading final is apply texture layer on the grey back ground.
In my camera bag
The equipment i carried in my bag, is D810, 85mm d1.4, 105mm macro 2.8 , 70-200 mm 2.8 , 24-70mm 2.8, with cpl and nd8 filter.
Feedback
My advice are to practice, there are amazing on line tutorials, set up the theme photoshoot be inspire by the master. the Theme is very important for the shoot , as we have done to combined a Model,Hair make up artist, designer dress,lighting and post processing to make it work.
