This is a photo of the 1898 North Head Lighthouse in the Cape Disappointment state park, Washington state. Because it was mid afternoon, I needed to find a fresh perspective rather than just taking a wrong-time-of-day snapshot of a lighthouse sitting on a rocky point. I strived to incorporate interesting geometrical elements and relationships in this composition to add impact. Converting the image to black & white also helped give it the feel I envisioned.

North Head Lighthouse not North Point. I have over 100 photos of this lighthouse from closeups of the peeling paint before it was restored to images of it in the process of being restored. I like this image of yours very much; I've taken a similar one but in color. Your grayscale suits the image better.
