Location
This was taken at a private studio near Tayport on the river Tay, it's tucked away from the main road and nestled in among farm buildings.Time
Taken about 11am, mainly because we were well into the shoot by that time and I usually start at 10am with a cuppa coffee or tea.Lighting
This image was taken using a single light source, the contrasting nature of the light is due to a Bowens Fresnel. I very underrated light modifier, this lighting is a major part of my art nude work, its very much a mood enhancer. The light is placed to at a 45/45 angle much like a normal portrait lighting technique.Equipment
Nikon D810 with a Tamron 28-70, a single Bowens strobe and FresnelInspiration
The mood of the moment really, the contrast of the bodice and the darkness, the half hidden face adds an air of mystery.Editing
There is quite a bit of processing in this image, basic cropping, some light dodging and burning, skin smoothing using Imagenomic Portraiture. Then textures were add to the floor and backdrop, some light colouring to balance the image. Finally some sharpening then a final light texture with a vignette. In my camera bag
Nikon D810, Tamron 28-70 f2.8 and a Sigma 70-200 f2.8, Nikon 50mm f1.8, a speedlite and various filters than never really get used unless I find myself doing a landscape on the odd occasion.Feedback
Use a fresnel, this one was an expensive Bowens Fresnel 200 (not mine) but you can pick up cheap ones for about 40-60UKP which will work nearly as good. The angle needs to be precise and it takes practise. I also highly recommend using a professional model.
