Among other things, colours and light are really convincing.

Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in Rural Ghost Town tucked away In South Dakota

Time

It was roughly midafternoon on a quiet day. Not a soul in sight.

Lighting

I am a sucker for lighting. The natural light beaming through the window drew me right into my subject Immediately.

Equipment

Equipment used was a Nikon D610 teamed up with a Tamron 24-70 Lens

Inspiration

My inspiration was the book and the light. I had wondered "Who in the past had sitting here reading this book. Was it an older gentleman with a tobacco pipe after a hard days work enjoying a book?"

Editing

There was mild post processing done. Adjustment of brightness and contrast to bring out detail as the setting was very low-light.

In my camera bag

My trusty soul-work tools have been my Nikon D610, Tamron 24-70, and 100 mm macro.

Feedback

Learn light. Natural light. Watch how it changes throughout different times of day. Watch how it illuminates your subjects as it comes through the window. Watch the landscape a couple hours before the sun goes down. Wake up A couple hours before sunrise and watch. Observe plants, water, buildings, and anything that stands out to you the most.
