I am really enjoying shooting with different motives lately. This was shot with a longer lens that I normally shoot with. I feel like I am sticking my neck out shooting something abstract, as I have never really done it before, but what the hell… The sunrise coming up as we passed over this bridge was pretty spectacular so @matt_jackisch and I hopped out, shot the typical river-mountains view that was unfolding in front of us, but it was the texture in the ice that really spoke to me. The whole scene on its own was beautiful, but as many photographers know, a beautiful scene doesn’t necessarily make a great photo. This was one of those moments. SO, I let my instinct take over and started to shoot the textures. It almost felt like I was giving up on the scene, and I felt a little shitty about it… until I got home and saw this. Gonna be seeing more long lens stuff like this from me in the future.
