Yeah so this was the coldest I have ever been in my life. Hands down. The -37 air was so cold, (How Cold Was It?)… it was so damn cold that my tripod froze completely and the only thing I could do to adjust my composition was to fully extend my legs outward so I could get my camera lower… The good news, was I found this quick and didn’t have to do a whole let to get something I was really excited about. Now the pain. I stood on that spot for about 75 minutes, firing long exposure after long exposure watching the light develop. Touching anything metal on my camera literally burned my skin to touch. My wireless shutter release worked, but had no digital display whatsoever. My nose literally had icicles hanging from it and my nostrils were RAW… But the one thing I learned from this trip is that as much as I hate being in the snow, and being frozen, shooting this area this time of year was pretty marvellous. Huge thanks to @matt_jackisch who tolerated my extremely early habits (as I like being REALLY early. Yeah, I’m a bit of a knob but wtf right?)
