Location
This photo is in Iceland, at the foot of the Skaftafell glacier. It was over an hour hike to get in to this locationTime
This was shot around noon, but being October at the Arctic circle, the sun sits fairly low on the horizonLighting
It was great to have many hours of "Golden hour" every day, with the positioning of the sun.Equipment
This is shot on a Canon 7Dii with a Canon 24-70 2.8ii It was handheld, and natural light only.Inspiration
We spent our trip looking for this type of setup and location. We were glacier hunting from the start, and managed to hike in to this spot.Editing
There is very little processing done here, just a slight color curve adjustment and and a bit of sharpening. In my camera bag
While traveling I like to pack light. This hike was just my camera, one speedlight with trigger, a lens pen, and 2 lenses: 24-70 and 70-200Feedback
I've found that by keeping your eyes peeled as you drive around, you can spot since some beautiful locations. Take the risk, turn off the road, and see where you end up!
