I took this shot at a local park while my Mum had Millie out of a walk.Time
Shortly after noon.Lighting
Taken on a slightly overcast day with a short break in the cloud cover.Equipment
Taken with a 5D mkII and the Canon 70-200 F/2.8Inspiration
My mother is a dog walker, and one of her clients (the owner, not the dog) commissioned me to get a photo of Millie with the view to frame it.Editing
Tonal adjustments and vignette added using Capture One 20. Further tweaking of local area adjustments in Photoshop. In my camera bag
My 5DmkII, a nifty fifty (F/1.4), the Canon 17-40 F/4, the old 15mm F/2.8 fisheye, the 70-200, and a 580EX with a long hotshoe extension.Feedback
When it comes to working with most portrait subjects I would always reccomened starting off taking photos at their level, keeping an eye out for background details that may enhance/detract from the shot. I'm definitely a sucker for using telephoto lenses for portraits, too.
