Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken near a rest area just 3 miles from my childhood home in the Mountains of Maine.

Time

This was taken in the late winter afternoon in December!

Lighting

I love using the natural lighting in scenes like this! Just position the camera for the sun to glare thru the trees!

Equipment

I shot this with a Canon 5D Mark iii with a Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 lens!

Inspiration

I loved growing up in the woods of Maine so I have been trying to show the natural beauty of this area ever since I got into photograpyhy!

Editing

Yes I always retouch using Adobe Lightroom, I try to get the colors and range to what I think it looks like in real life!

In my camera bag

I love having a long lens,( either my Canon 70-200mm f/2.8L IS or my Canon 100-400mm f/4.6L) for wildlife and I always have a wide angle(either my Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 of my Rokonin 14mm f/2.8). Extra SD cards and extra batteries are a must!

Feedback

I have learned that there are things you get jaded to growing up in an area. Maybe you have been there so much or its always so busy because of tourist. But looking at it from a photography point of view in a different angle or different type of year is refreshing!
