Location
This is a formal Studio Shoot with a Striplight Setup (2 Lights from Right and Left). To achieve Images like this you need a Studio with plenty of Space. My Studio is about 120 square meters, but still I hat do add Background with Photoshop to get enough space around the Model.Time
it was in the evening. but since I uses 100% artificial light the time of the day does not matter.Lighting
The light Setup is pretty simple but as always in Photography you have to do it in the right way and with aim of Quality. One Striplight from the right and another Striplight from the left with equal Power is all you need. To control the light you need a separation between background and Model. This is inportant. So you need at least 2 or up to 3 Meters between Background and Model.Equipment
the Image was shot on a Nikon D850 with may favorite Lens the 85mm F/1.4Inspiration
This Shoot was very well planed. The Idea of this Series was to make Pictures in a simple graphic way with no disturbing elements. Only the Box, the Model and a careful chosen light. to support the very flexible Poses of the Model it was very important to me to keep the Picture simple without any disturbing elements. If you ever have a chance to take Pictures of professional Ballerina, make sure that you put all visible attention to the Pose.Editing
On post Process I added around 30% space on each side to make the whole Scene bigger. In this big scene the Models Pose gets even more attentionIn my camera bag
In the Studio I have 4 Flaschlights but seldom use more than 2. to control the light I have Striplights and Octaboxes. Outdoor I normally work with available light or very often I use portable Flashlights.Feedback
if you have a chance to work with Ballerinas or Dancers or artistic Models you don't need a very interesting Setup. Just make sure that you choose good light and take care about the exact Position of the light to throw Shadows on the right Places.
