In my home in Leeuwarden at the time, its one of my first portraits.Time
At night probably, due to my studies I'd say this was at midnight.Lighting
I wanted a emotional picture, which led me to light the face on just one side which emphasizes one area of the face. The shadows leap thru to the bottom which makes for a nice compositionEquipment

I wanted a emotional picture where the black and white grainy overall look would work in my favor. Its a very expressive pose which I still love.Editing
Yes I did some editing using Photoshop. I made it more grainy and in parts out of focus to let the subject get more attention.In my camera bag
I like to keep things as minimal as possible, that does not mean using the right equipment for the right moment. I have lenses for portraits, landscapes.
