Jeffersons spirit seems disturbed...Very moody shot and fine.

Behind The Lens

Location

This was taken in Washington DC as we were leaving an exhibit after a summer storm--the lighting and shadows were perfect with a great cloud formation--I even caught an airplane after takeoff high above the dome of the Memorial

Time

It was mid afternoon although it looks a bit later due to the massive cloud cover

Lighting

the lighting speaks for itself--natural light, sun rays, light and dark clouds, just ideal natural lighting to get the Memorial ---the clouds and lighting make the picture!

Equipment

I used a fuji x-t1 with an 18-135 lens--nothing else-- iso 200 focal length of 43mm and 1/90 of a second hand held

Inspiration

just the whole scene--a rare shot with extraordinary natural light and clouds

Editing

Not much processing--clarity, bit of contrast all in Lightroom Classic plus tweaking in Aurora HDR

In my camera bag

now I normally go with my fuji x-t4, a 16-55 and a 50-140 fuji lenses (weather sealed, OIS, 2.8f with cleaning equipment, tripod (on occasion) and a remote release --although I have several other fuji lenses I use depending on what I am shooting.

Feedback

I watch for clouds, interesting subjects and low light opportunities--I mostly shoot around sunset and sunrise and do landscapes and macro photography--I also like to play with multiple exposures! Luck and patience help plus good equipment
