Leon, Congratulations on being the Grand Champion of the Wildlife in National Parks photo challenge. This image really struck me and it is the one I kept coming back to. There are so many features to the image that really stood out. Composition is perfect. Color and light are well balanced. Point of View is very clear, you were at the level needed to capture this. Contrast of colors of the yellow, blues, golds and browns along with the light shadows from the right side are stunning. Thanks Todd.. it was great to see these beautiful birds taking of and land.. it pays off if you rise before the sun to shoot when the light is not to bright. I need to go back there to take new photos. Thanks for your support.

The photo was taken on the West Coast of South Africa on an island reserve.Time
It was taken early in the morning just after sunrise.Lighting
The light was soft coz it was during early winter when the desert heat has not hit the day yet.Equipment
I use Canon and Sigma equipment with a mono-pod coz no tripods are allowed on the island reserve.Inspiration
Just the beauty of the birds with there yellow feathers and blue eyes was the inspiration.Editing
I always use photoshop for post-processing.In my camera bag
