RIP, Nugget
I said that 2018 would be a year of firsts and lasts. Today was our last day with Nugget.
It is the first time I've ever had to put a pet down, but Nugget was sick, and getting sicker, and we gave her everything we could to keep her going for as long as she was able.
She had squamous cell carcinoma. It made her drool uncontrollably, and unable to eat or drink properly, which caused her to lose weight. She couldn't groom herself, and she began pulling her fur out in places. It was time.
Today, we watched Nugget fall asleep for the last time. We pet her for the last time, and said goodbye to her. She was our neurotic, weirdo cat who liked to chew on plastic bags, but was terrified of the sound of them.
She would go bananas over catnip. She drove Kitty crazy.
There is an empty space in our home now.
