Though this Andean peak, with its 6.310 metres above sea level, is far from Himalayan heights, its summit is the farthest point from the Earth's centre. This is due to the fact that the Earth's shape is somewhat "fatter" around the Equator line, where this (now extinct) volcano is siutated.
