A beautiful sunset overlooking the Knik arm of Cook Inlet, from a rooftop in down-town Anchorage, where you can see the active Redoubt Volcano. The tides around Alaska rise and fall twice a day, and what's shown here is a low tide. This affects when the cargo ships and cruise liners can dock in any of our ports. You can see all the ice chunks left behind when the water receded.
