Disused railway going from Gillingham station to Chatham Dockyard, it now ends near to Gillingham Pier because of redevelopment of the area, the tracks last had trains running on them in the early 1990s carrying contaminated soil and asbestos waste from the Dockyard before the housing development could be started.

Location
This photo was taken on a disused branch line that runs from Gillingham train station to Chatham Dockyard in Kent England. The line was last used in the early 1990's to remove contaminated soil and asbestos from the Dockyard before the area was redeveloped for housing.Time
This was taken on 1 November 2017 at around 12:30. I knew the Branch line was here but had never been to it, i was just exploring the area when i found that the fencing at the end of the track had been removed so i had a walk along it taken a few different shots as i went along. The fencing has since been replaced so will need to try to find a different way to access the tracks in the future.Lighting
I know that the time of day was not the best for light, but there was so little sky included in the shot and because of the steep banks either side with plenty of tree cover with still lots of foliage i exposed for the shadows.Equipment
This was shot on a Nikon D5200 with a Tamron 18-270 lens which i have had for the past five years.Inspiration
The way the tracks converge and disappear under the road bridge with the leaves alongside the rails i thought it could be a good picture, but the reaction i got from every one was quite a surprise.Editing
Using Affinity Photo i removed some rubbish/trash from the foreground with in painting tool then i enhanced the colour of the fallen leaves and the rusty rails by bringing out the reds and browns, and bring out the green of the foliage.In my camera bag
I normally use my Nikon D5200 with the Tamron 18-270 lens. I also have a 18-55 lens that i occasionally use just upgraded my tripod to a Rangers 140cm 360 degree panorama ballhead travel tripod.Feedback
Don't ignore what is local to you go out and explore and discover new things close to where you live there could be a great shot just around the corner. Don't just write it off just because you pass it most days, with the right conditions the mundane can be transformed it to something fabulous.
