This little girl touched my heart, she paddled a canoe through the mangrove swamps with her mother so i could explore the floating village out on the Mekong River and get the shots i needed.....It was hot, humid and the sun was beating down, i had with me my camera bag and out of the bag when i went to change lenses rolled a can of soda pop. I innstantly saw her eyes widen yet she said nothing, she was in total awe of what it was yet somehow seemed to know it was a much needed drink in the heat, she had nothing. I beckoned her closer communicated although she spoke no english that i wanted her to have the soda. She beamed, massively and the excitement in her eyes was uncontainable, i got THE biggest smile and a huge heartwarming hug from this little girl and it reminded me of my own two small daughters back home. I wont lie... tears streamed down my face at how truly grateful this little human was to receive something she probably never gets or rarely sees, these people are poverty stricken. The greatest reward was observing how she sat like the queen next to her can of soda pop for the rest of the canoe ride through the mangroves. A humbling and truly touching experience - i will post the pice called Soda pop smile with her beaming on the back of the boat later this week if anyone is interested.....Thankyou for looking
