A friend and I had just spent the evening camping in Thorsmork - an area nestled deep in the highlands of Iceland. In almost pitch black, we had to drive our 4x4 through the swollen rivers you see weaving through this photo. It felt funny walking up along the hill adjacent to the river system the next day, peering through the greenery at what seems like quite a calm and controlled scene. Anything but, especially when you are on level ground with Mother Nature's pulse.
