Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken in studio in Minsk

Time

The photo was taken in the winter, around 3 pm. Since the winter time, it was getting dark fast, but I wanted to shoot with the light from the window

Lighting

Basically used daylight from the window, and New Year's garlands, which were in the studio, used for the atmosphere

Equipment

This was shot on a Nikon D750, with an Sigma 50mm f/1.4 lens. No other equipment was involved

Inspiration

I'm usually inspired by the work of other photographers. before each shooting I look through photos, I make references, so it's easier to work for me and models. This shooting was no exception, but it is certain to say whose photos were inspired already and I will not remember.

Editing

Post-processing is done in Photoshop. Usually I show RAW in Camera Raw where I adjust white balance, contrast. Then, in Photoshop, I retouch the skin as necessary, arrange the accents and tone it with the help of curves. Then I strengthen the sharpness and save for publication.

In my camera bag

Usually it is a Nikon D750 camera, Sigma 50mm f / 1.4 or Nikkor 70-300mm f / 4.5-5.6. Very rarely I use a tripod and external flashes. Constantly I carry a spare battery.

Feedback

Inspired by the work of professionals, attending master classes of favorite photographers and taking lots of photographs
