This photograph was taken in South Africa ;) My favorite place for holidays, and the best place, my idea, for beautiful photography.Time
This photograph was taken in the afternoon, at a village where the people live exactly the way it was a hundred years ago. The Zulu nation is a proud nation, and are willing to give you a tour of life, how it was then, and the difficulties involved. The youngster, the grandchild of the woman in view, was reserved but very proud of his home, and apparently, he loves his grandma! Can you tell? I treated him and his two nephews to a creamy ice-cream after which we played games with them on the lawn. The picture was taken on the 26th of November 2016.Lighting
The warmth, love and security that this grandma and grandchild depicts, was what I wanted to capture, it was cloudy with just a small streak of sunlight peaking through.Equipment
I shot this with my Canon 5D Mark iii and Canon EF24-70mm F2.8L II USM. No other equipment was used, except love ... ;)Inspiration
I was looking for a moment of interaction with the family, and I noticed that this youngster has a great bond with his Grandma (Magog as known in the Zulu culture) ... ;)Editing
I basically use lightroom to tweak here and there where necessaryIn my camera bag
Canon 5d Mark iii Ef24-70 and EF70-200, both IS USM, of and of course my lipstick, I never go anywhere without my lipstick ... ;)Feedback
Making personal contact with the muse(s) in the portrait, getting then to feel comfortable, and used to having a huge lens in their face. I love to joke and laugh with them and invite them to feel free and relaxed. ... ;)
